Compared to the normal Mi NoteBook 14, the Horizon Edition packs more powerful internal hardware. One of its top-end models comes with Intel 10th Generation Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics card, faster SSD hard drive, and yet its ultra-lightweight at 1.3kg.
For Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition you get to choose from two models. One with Intel Core i5 and SATA 3 SSD priced at Rs 54,999, whereas the top-end model with Intel Core i7 and NVMe SSD storage is priced at Rs 59,999. Both these prices are introductory prices as per the company and will change in the coming months.
You could purchase the Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition exclusively on Amazon India and Mi.com online store. It would be also available on Mi Home and Mi Studio shops across India. The first sale for the same would start on 17th June 2020. If you own an HDFC Bank Debit card or Credit card then you would get up to Rs 2000 instant discount on the purchase of the notebooks. There is also a nine months no-cost EMI option available with these cards.
Light or Ultra-light
One of the main highlights of Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition is it’s ultra-lightweight build. Even with the metal body that got an anodised sandblasted finish, the notebook weighs just 1.35Kg. It’s also ultra-thin with just 17.15 mm thickness.
The Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition flaunts a 14-inch or 35.56cm full HD anti-glare Horizon display with resolution support of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The screen feels punchy thanks to the super-thin 3mm bezels on each side (and top) and 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It also comes with wide 178-degree viewing angle.
Just as the normal Mi NoteBook 14, the Horizon Edition comes with a full-size keyboard. They are ABS texture coated scissor-switch keys with an optimal travel distance of 1.3mm. In simple words, those keyboards are punchy enough to write or code thanks to the tactile feedback. These keys also come with in-built dust protection layer increasing the life of the keyboard further.
The Horizon Edition Mi Notebook 14 comes with a big multi-touch trackpad that allows you to do various tasks like swipe, scroll, selection, zoom-in or zoom-out etc. As its big, the trackpad got the palm-rejection built-in to cancel out any unintended touches.
For audiophiles, the notebook comes with 2x2W stereo speakers combined with the DTS audio processing app for fine-tuning your audio.
Intel 10th Generation Inside
Now to the interesting bit in Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition. The notebook comes in two models, one with Intel 10th Generation 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-10510U processor with a boost clock speed of up to 4.9GHz. It’s coupled with 512GB PCI Express Gen 3 NVMe SSD storage that can offer up to 5 times faster transfer speeds, boot-ups and game-loads. It supports up to 3000 MB/s sequential read and 1800 MB/s sequential write speed.
The lower model in the Horizon Edition is powered by Intel 10th Generation 1.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-10210U processor with a boost clock speed of up to 4.2GHz. It’s coupled with 512GB SATA 3 SSD storage which has a transfer speed of 600 MB/s.
Both these Horizon Edition notebooks come with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM NVIDIA GeForce MX350 graphics processor and 8GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM. To cool the whole thing while you utilise the notebook hardware at maximum, it comes with a wider air intake area of 2530mm and a large diameter fan.

Connectivity option in Mi NoteBook 14 Horizon Edition includes support for dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi 2×2 and Bluetooth V5.0. Ports include one Type-C USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, two high-speed Type-A USB 3.1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI 1.4b interface, one DC-jack and one combo Audio Jack. You would also get a Mi Webcam HD 720p bundled freely with the laptop, as it lacks the in-built one.
