Fitness freaks here comes a treat from Xiaomi, that would motivate you to do workout every day. The company has launched its fourth-generation Mi Band in India, called the Mi Band 4 or Mi Smart Band 4. This time around, there is one BIG addition to the popular smart band, a full-colour AMOLED touch display. Still, with this gorgeous colour display, it could easily hold up to 20 days on a single charge.
Xiaomi has also worked in-and-out to improve the overall aspects of Mi band 4. This includes better activity and swim tracking, 24/7 heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking.
Before getting into the specifications, let’s know the Indian pricing of Mi Band 4. You could purchase the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 at Rs 2,299. That’s one of the cheapest wearable fitness smart band with colour display available in the Indian market. The Mi Band 4 would be available to purchase from Amazon India, Mi Online store and Mi Home stores across India. The first sale for the smart band would start at sharp 12pm noon on 19th September 2019.
What’s new in Xiaomi Mi Band 4?
The Mi Band 4 keeps the design intact from its older siblings the Mi Band 3. You get the same capsule design with colourfull straps accompanying it. However, the charging pins have been moved to the backside in Mi Band 4, instead of the bottom side in Mi Band 3. Thus, the last generation charging cable is not compatible with Mi Band 4 and you still need to push out the capsule out of the strap to charge it. Nevertheless, you could still use the bracelet or straps from your older Mi Band 3 on Mi Band 4. The wrist strap is made up to thermoplastic polyurethane.
One of the biggest improvement in Mi Band 4 is the 0.95-inch (120 x 240 RGB) full-colour AMOLED touch display. The display is now sharper and comes with up to 400 nits screen brightness. You could adjust the brightness up to five levels. The screen is protected with 2.5D tempered glass and covered with anti-fingerprint coating.
Thanks to the colourful AMOLED display, you could customize the Watchfaces, with hundred’s of options already available through official Mi Fit app.
Activities and tracking
The Mi Band 4 comes with 3-axis accelerometer + 3-axis gyroscope, thus allow for much-improved activity and fitness tracking. It also has a PPG heart rate sensor, that would allow all-day 24/7 heart rate checking. The smart fitness band could automatically track six workout modes – Treadmill, free training, outdoor running, cycling, walking and pool swimming. It could also count steps, distance, and calories burned during your workout.
The band is 5 ATM water resistance rated and could hold up to 50m in water. Thus you could safely use it for swimming, as it could also recognize five different swim styles and can record 12 data sets including swimming pace and stroke count.
Sleep monitoring is also being improved and the Mi Band 4 could accurately track light and deep sleep as well as heart rate during sleep to understand your sleep patterns.
Xiaomi Mi Band 4 supports Bluetooth v5.0 and once connected with your phone (via Mi Fit App) could seamlessly sync workout data. You could also instantly view call, text, app notifications and music in play, all hands-free.
To the final piece, the Mi Band 4 comes with a 135mAh LiPo battery, that would take around 2 hours for full charging and have a standby time of up to 20 days. The smart fitness band is compatible with both Android (Android 4.4 or above) and Apple iOS (iOS 9.0 or above).
