Taking on the competition, LG has unveiled its next major flagship smartphone the G3 at its global launch event held in London, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul. As expected LG G3 packs everything that’s needed for a flagship Android device that can take on recently launched Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8.

LG G3 packs 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixel that offers an incredible 538ppi which is almost four times the resolution of HD and almost two times the resolution  of Full HD display. The device is powered by 2.5GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 2GB RAM on the 16GB variant and 3GB RAM on the 32GB variant. On the storage side G3 comes with 16GB or 32GB internal storage, that can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card.

Another major highlighting feature of LG G3 is the 13 megapixel camera on the back that carries a revolutionary Laser Auto Focus – that measures the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam. Thus offering sharp images in a fraction of the time required by conventional phone cameras. The camera also comes with Optical Image Stabilizer Plus and dual LED Flash. The device also carries a 2.1 megapixel front camera with larger image sensor and larger aperture for taking better-looking selfies. One can take a selfie by gesture controls — when ready to shoot, one can simply clench their hand into a fist and G3 will recognize the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown to shoot.

On the connectivity side LG G3 supports 4G LTE, HSPA+, 3G, 2G networks along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X), NFC, SlimPort, A-GPS/Glonass and USB 2.0. The device runs on latest Android 4.2.2 KitKat with LG’s new UI that’s more flatter. In addition it carries a bunch of extra customisation on Android like Smart Keyboard, Smart notice and Smart Security.
