The ZUK moniker has been dropped! Well, months after the ZUK Z1 smartphone launch in India, Lenovo is back with a new flagship device – Lenovo ZUK Z2/ Lenovo Z2 Plus. On a quick glance, the smartphone features the premium look and feel, powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4G RAM, 13-megapixel camera and high-speed 4G VoLTE connectivity.
First, to the pricing, the Lenovo Z2 Plus will be available in two variants. One with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant which is priced at Rs 17,999, whereas the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, got a price tag of Rs 19,999. Both models will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting 25th September 2016.
Back to the specifications, the Lenovo Z2 Plus boast a super premium look and feel. The unibody is made from fibreglass material which the company claims to be stronger and lighter than metal. The mobile flaunts a 5-inch full HD display with a pixel density of 441 ppi and viewing angle of 178-degrees.
Under the hood, the Lenovo Z2 Plus is powered by a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor which is coupled with a 3GB RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage or a much powerful 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage. That’s more than enough firepower for all the games and apps you run on it. To dissipate the heat efficiently during long use the mobile also comes with internal heat conduction technology.
Do note that you can’t expand the storage, but you do have the option to use USB pen drives as the mobile got USB OTG support. We always suggest going for the high 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with a customised 13-megapixel camera on back with a wide f/2.2 aperture, hybrid focus (PDAF+CAF), electronic image stabilisation (EIS) and LED flash. It can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, slow motion HD (720p) videos at 120fps and time-lapse videos. On the front for capturing your selfies, the mobile got an 8-megapixel camera with aperture f/2.0 and 80 degrees wide-angle lens.
For connectivity, the Lenovo Z2 Plus includes a dual-SIM card slot, 4G LTE with VoLTE for HD voice calls and supporting all Indian 4G bands. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port. It also comes packed with six professional mobile sensors. The mobile runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
For fitness aware Indians the Lenovo Z2 Plus comes with Ant+ pro-fitness sensor and U-Health app that can keep track of your steps, calorie burned and distance 24×7. For extra security, the mobile got a fingerprint sensor that can also perform seven other tasks.
