Sending money has never been this easy, now through your chats. Reliance Jio‘s digital mobile wallet service JioMoney now being deeply integrated with company’s own chat app JioChat. How deep the integration? well, you can now send money to a friend or receive money from a friend directly through chats.
To send money to one of your friends, select the chat window with your friend on JioChat app. Tap on the rupee symbol found on the bottom right corner. You will now be asked to enter the amount your wish to send and click on the ‘send’ button to send the money. Your friend will now see a new chat from you with the transaction details. In the same time, your friends JioMoney will be instantly credited with the money you have send.
Do note that this will work only if both sender and receiver has JioMoney account. Additionally, you also need to link your JioMoney account with JioChat account. Of course, both accounts need to be using the same mobile number for the whole thing to work. To link both the apps, first open up your JioMoney app and go to the ‘Payments’ section and click on the ‘Link’ tab. You will instantly get a one-time password (OTP) which once verified will link JioMoney account with JioChat.
How to link JioMoney to JioChat
- In JioMoney app, go to Payments section under the More section and click on ‘Link’.
- You will now instantly get an OTP for authentication.
- For Android users, JioChat will fetch the OTP and for iOS users need to enter the OTP manually.
- Once authenticated your JioMoney account will be linked to your JioChat account.
You can also link your JioMoney account to JioChat directly while sending money. For that on JioChat choose any chat windows and click on the rupee symbol. Enter the amount you wish to send and click on the send button. On the next screen, you will be asked to authenticate the transaction via OTP. Once authenticated the money will be sent and both accounts/apps will be linked.
If for any reason you want to unlink your JioMoney account from JioChat, first go to ‘Payments’ section on the More tab. Under that section, you will find an option to ‘Unlink Account’. Select ‘JioMoney Account’ and click ok to unlink the two apps.
