True flagship earns the true reward. Samsung’s newest flagship device Galaxy Note 8 has won the ‘Gadget of the Year’ award at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2017. IMC awards recognize innovations and initiatives that have helped transform the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) ecosystem.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 8 in India on September 12th, 2017 with much fanfare. Pre-booking of the phablet received an overwhelming response and actual sale started on 21st September 2017. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is one of the beautiful devices you just wish to hold in your hand. It flaunts a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED curved, 2960×1440 Infinity Display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and features HDR support. Under the hood, the phablet is powered by 64-bit Exynos 8895 octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. To store all your media content, the phablet carries up to 256GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 256GB using microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy Note8 comes with a dual camera at the back. One 12-megapixel is a wide-angle lens packing Dual Pixel autofocus and f/1.7 aperture. While the other 12-megapixel is a telephoto lens with autofocus and f/2.4 aperture. It also features Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) in both its cameras along with 2X optical zoom and up to 10X digital zoom. For selfie lovers, the phablet comes with an 8-megapixel smart autofocus front-facing camera featuring f/1.7 aperture.
As for connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 supports 4G LTE that works with every India telco’s 4G band. It will also support 4G VoLTE that allows you to make HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, ANT+, NFC and USB Type-C. As for fuelling the devices, the Note8 packs a smaller 3,300mAh battery that supports fast charging with Quick Charge 2.0. The phablet runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with TouchWiz UI on top. As the phablet comes with NFC and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology, you can use it with Samsung Pay.
A major part of Galaxy Note 8 is its stylus or S Pen. Using it you can use to write, draw, and interact with the phone and communicate with friends. For audiophiles out there, the phablet packs ultra high-quality audio playback (UHQ 32-bit) and DSD support. For security, the phablet offers both iris and fingerprint scanning. Both the phablet and S Pen is water and dust resistance with the IP68 rating.
