Vodafone Idea has now officially completed the migration process for all Idea postpaid subscribers to Vodafone RED postpaid. Thus, now both Vodafone and Idea postpaid customers would get a unified experience along with RED premium content and bundle of other value-added services.

Started in Feb 2020 and after a few delays, Indian telecom operator Vodafone Idea has finally completed the migration Idea Nirvana Postpaid customers to Vodafone RED postpaid. Now, original Idea Nirvana postpaid customers would be served with a similar Vodafone RED plan. While for new customers looking to take an Idea Nirvana plan would be directed to take the Vodafone RED postpaid plans.
For most Vodafone Idea Postpaid customers there isn’t much disruption in service offered. The mobile number and SIM card remain the same as before. However, Idea postpaid customers need to switch from using Idea website or My Idea app to Vodafone website or My Vodafone app for taking care of their postpaid activities.
Idea Nirvana postpaid customer was migrated to a similar price point Vodafone RED plan. Most of the postpaid plans in Vodafone RED plan comes with unlimited voice calls, bulk data benefits, SMS benefits, free international calls and access to exclusive premium OTT apps like Vodafone Play, Amazon Prime and Netflix.
The 4 Phases of migration
Close after the merger of two telcos Vodafone and Idea Cellular, it was decided to offer postpaid products and services under a single platform or brand – Vodafone RED. Thus, in phased manner existing Idea’s Postpaid customer base using Idea Nirvana plans were migrated to similar Vodafone RED plans. The changes were applicable to both regular and enterprise Idea Postpaid customers.
The original plan was to finish the postpaid migration by May 11, 2020. But, due to COVID-19 and other factors, it got delayed. In Phase 1 – migration of Idea Nirvana users in Mumbai telecom circle was started, which finished at March, 9th. The Phase 2 migration started on April 6th for Gujarat, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, and Rajasthan telecom circles and it was completed on May 11th.
The Phase 3 migration started on April 20th, for Idea Nirvana postpaid customers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh, which was completed on June 8th. The final phase or Phase 4 migration started on May 11 which include Delhi, Maharashtra & Goa, West Bengal, Kolkata, Assam & North East, Uttar Pradesh (West), Uttar Pradesh (East) and Madhya Pradesh telecom circles. The final phase of migration completed on 29th June 2020.
