Just a day after Vodafone India announced the partnership with Opera software to offers its customers with Opera web pass services, India’s third largest telecom operator Idea Cellular has also entered into a partnership with Opera Software to offer its pan India prepaid and postpaid customers with Idea Web Pass service.
Idea’s customers can now purchase customized and easy-to-understand time-based mobile internet packages that suits one’s personal needs. For example Idea customer who would like to use only Facebook can opt for a weekly Facebook pass for just Rs 7 and get unlimited access to Facebook on their opera mini browser.
Opera web pass eliminates the confusing, multi-step, time-consuming and error-prone process of subscribing to a data plan. With minimal integration work (simple support for Opera Mini zero rating, third-party billing and header forwarding), an operator can now deploy tailor-made mobile internet packages to their entire user base easily and quickly.
To purchase an Idea Web Pass, customers just needs to start Opera Mini on his/her mobile phone, click Idea Web Pass in the Speed Dial start page and choose from a list of web pass subscriptions, allowing Idea Cellular customers to purchase from a range of user-centric packages to suit their internet access needs. Idea web pass can offer customers following subscription based options –
- Daily Internet Pass for Rs 8
- Weekly Facebook Pass for Rs 7
- Weekly Internet Pass for Rs 30

Just a year before Airtel started offering its customers with Opera web pass. With this service Airtel customers can subscribe to affordable and simple pay-as-you-go mobile internet services.
