Expanding its 4G footprints to all major Indian cities, Idea Cellular has launched its high-speed 4G LTE mobiles services in twelve major towns of Orissa. Customers can avail free upgrade to 4G SIM from any of the company showrooms or leading telecom retail outlets across this cities. They can also choose 4G Prepaid and Postpaid tariff plans that are priced at par with existing 3G plans. For a start one can also try the 4G Trial Packs starting as low as Rs 29.

The 12 major towns in Orissa covered under Idea 4G service include Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Balugaon, Boxipalli, Cuttack, Gopalpur, Jatani, Jharsuguda, Khordha, Rangeilunda, Shergada and Soro.

“The 4G services launched today covers 12 major towns in Odisha. Of which, in nine towns, the consumers will experience it for the first time,” commented P Lakshminarayana, chief operating officer (corporate), Idea Cellular.

“With revised capex guidance for financial year 2016 at Rs 75 billion, we are accelerating our 4G rollout to cover the length and breadth in the 10 telecom circles, including Maharashtra and Goa and North East that are slated for launch before March,” commented Ambrish Jain Idea Cellular Deputy MD.

Idea Cellular has rolled out its FDD platform enabled 4G LTE services on the 1800 MHz frequency band, which has also been equipped with the enhanced ‘Fast Return’ feature enabling seamless and quick toggle for consumers across Idea’s 4G, 3G and 2G networks. Idea Cellular holds 1800 MHz 4G spectrum in ten telecom circles.

Idea Cellular has now expanded its 4G services to eight of its licensed telecom service areas, which include the intial four telecom circles of South India – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and three telecom circles of North India covering Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab.
