India’s top three telecom operators Airtel, Vodafone India, and Idea Cellular mobile networks are down in Kerala telecom circle. Users having a mobile connection with this telecom operators are not able to make or receive calls, SMS and use 4G or 3G mobile internet.
Customers of Idea Cellular seems to be most affected, as Idea is the top operator in Kerala telecom circle.
There have been reports of a major power outage causing this network disruption. Telecom companies with their partners are now trying to fix the issue and its expected to solve it in the coming hours.
The network issue was first reported by Idea cellular customers on Saturday (2nd July 2016) morning at around 10AM. Most of the customers were not able to make calls or receive incoming calls on their mobile connection. For some users, mobile internet was working but the connection was too slow.
Users have come down to Twitter to express their concern over the issue.
Update – Airtel and Vodafone India network in Kerala seems to be up and working again. There is still not an official confirmation from Idea Cellular regarding the network outage.
Update (5PM) – Idea Cellular network issue has been now resolved and all mobile service are up and running. The company has release following statement regarding it.
“This morning, as a result of a power outage, some pockets in Kerala experienced connectivity problems on the Idea network. However, the problem was resolved and the network was restored. We, at Idea, constantly endeavor to ensure seamless connectivity for our customers. However, at times, due unavoidable circumstances, connectivity can be hampered. We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers,”
