Driving on the dual camera craze among the users, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its newest android smartphone, Honor 9i in India. The talking point here is the two dual camera setup on the device. Making the phone more appealing is the fullView display that’s usually found in most premium smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8, LG V30 and LG G6.

The world’s first smartphone with 4 cameras and fullView display is not that pricey. Honor has placed the phone in the mid-range mobile segment at a price tag of Rs 17,999. The mobile will be available exclusively via Flipkart. For colour choices, you could choose from Prestige Gold, Aurora Blue, and Graphite Black.

The 4 Cameras

When compared to the recently launched camera-centric Honor 8 Pro, the Honor 9i comes with two dual cameras set up. At the back, you get a pair of 16-megapixel sensor and 2-megapixel sensor featuring Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and Contrast Detection Auto Focus (CDAF). It also has Single Color Temperature LED Flash support.

In the front for selfie lovers, the Honor 9i packs a pair of 13-megapixel sensor and 2-megapixel sensor. It features selfie flash support and with bokeh mode, you can shoot photos having blurred background effect.

Honor 9i flaunts a 5.9-inch fullView Full HD+ IPS (1080 X 2160) display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and covered in 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the mobile is powered by a 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. For storage, the mobile carriers 64GB of internal storage. You can further expand the storage up to 128GB using microSD card, which unfortunately uses the Hybrid slot. The phone runs on Android Nougat 7 with company’s EMUI 5.1 skin over the top.

As for connectivity, the Honor 9i comes with full 4G LTE network support that should work with every Indian telcos 4G band. You also get VoLTE support for making HD voice and video calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2.

Fueling the Honor 9i is a 3340 mAh battery which the company claims to deliver up to two days of standby time and up to seven hours of continuous gaming. For extra security, there is a fingerprint scanner placed at the back of the device.
