With shinning double-sided glass body to dual cameras on both rear and front, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has officially launched its Honor 9 Lite android smartphone in India. The mobile also features FullView display, powerful octa-core processor and 4G VoLTE support.

Placing the mobile in the sweet mid-range price segment, the Honor 9 Lite will retail for Rs 10,999. That’s for the base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage option. There is also a higher memory model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage option priced at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively through Flipkart starting 21st January 2018.

Design and Performance

Well, it’s shining on both sides. The Honor 9 Lite features a double-sided 2.5D glass with one part covering the front screen and other on the back side, offering a mirror-like effect. The mobile flaunts a 5.65-inch FHD+ FullView 2160×1080 display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, the Honor 9 Lite is powered by a 2.36 GHz Kirin 659 octa-core processor coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. For storing your media content, the mobile carries either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage option. You can further expand the storage up to 256GB using microSD card. The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out-of-the-box.

Camera and Connectivity

Honor 9 Lite boasts ‘Quad Lens’ or two dual cameras with each pair on front and back. There is a combination of 13-megapixel primary camera lens a + 2-megapixel secondary camera lens on both the sides. The rear dual camera module features PDAF fast focus and LED flashlight support. Whereas the front dual camera module offers hardware-level bokeh effects and other selfie beautification modes.

Coming to connectivity, the Honor 9 Lite offers dual SIM option with 4G LTE network support that works on most of the telcos 4G band in India. You also get full VoLTE support for making HD voice calls. Other connectivity options include 3G and 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2. For an extra layer of security, the phone also carries a fingerprint scanner embedded on the back of the device.

Fuelling the device is a 3000 mAh battery that also packs the fifth-generation smart battery saving mode. The battery can last for around 86 hours of offline music or up to 13 hours of offline video watching. It also comes with Huawei’s fast charging feature.
