Google has started rolling out entirely redesigned, a more functional and flexible version of its social networking platform Google+. Google announced this on their blog saying its part of company efforts to create a simpler, more beautiful Google. So, lets checkout what Google has got for us in the complete redesigned Google+ experience.
First thing that we will notice is the redesigned navigation bar, now instead of static icons at the top of the page, there’s a dynamic ribbon of applications on the left hand side with lots of customization options. Some of its customization abilities includes drag apps up or down to create the order users want, can now hover over certain apps to reveal a set of quick actions and can show or hide apps by moving them in and out of “More” app tab. Watch out the video get an overview of what we talked above.
“Taken together, these powers make it easier to access your favorites, and to adjust your preferences over time, We’ve also built the ribbon with the future in mind, giving us an obvious (and clutter-free) space for The Next Big Feature, and The Feature After That. So stay tuned.” Google senior vice president Vic Gundotra wrote on Google’s Official Blog.
Some other cool updated include easy to sharing posts, links, videos, photos with users circles from just about anywhere. Bigger sized photos and videos displayed on the stream, a stream of conversation “cards” that make it easier to scan and join discussions and finally an activity drawer that highlights the community around users content. Google Plus now also got a redesigned dedicated hangout page, which was earlier missing. It includes a quick access to every public and On Air hangout happening on Google + and chance to join them quickly. Also an additional rotating billboard of popular hangouts, pro tips and other items.
Google plus now has an enhanced profile page, which removed the 5 small profile images and brought in a Facebook timeline like view. The profile picture has got bigger in size and a new chat list that puts users friends front and center.
An updated with all of these improvements being rolling out over the next few days, so you may not immediately find this changes. If you have got confused with the new interface you can head over to this overview page for more details.
Telling my first impression on the new design of Google plus, its seems too sexy and lots more flexible. We have now total control of what need to be on the home page rather than the default tabs. Also one issue lots of people sorted has been the blank space you will get if your computer has a wider resolution. I think it will be solved in the coming days.
