Google just enriched its local search experience for Android and iOS mobile users by bringing recent search history to mobile devices. Next time when a user go to Google.com on there Android phone or iPhone, they will find information about that places they have search on their PC will be conveniently available under the new “Recent” icon. Calling, getting directions or seeing details about the places they’ve just searched for is now only one tap away.

The new “Recent” icon shows information about places you have recently searched for on any of your devices. Try swiping to the right to see more icons for other categories of places. said Junichi Uekawa, Software Engineer on the official Google blog.

Google Enriches Local Search Experience on Mobile Devices

Google now provide this new local search feature for users who have web history enabled and are logged into Google when doing their search. To test this feature you can start by searching for a place on your PC or other devices, then login to Google.com’s mobile homepage and check the Recent icon. Information about previously searched places will be available under the Recent icon for about a day. That’s definitely convenient for lots of users, doing local searches, so remember to enable web history and sign in to Google service when next time you do a search for a place.
