To take on the likes of Saavn, Gaana, and Hungama, Google has launched subscription-based music streaming service under Play Music in India. Earlier the company has launched Play Music in India where you can only purchase songs from the vast collection of Indian regional and international music.

With Google Play Music subscription you can stream and download music from the majority of Indian regional languages. This includes Hindi/Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and Punjabi along with international English music. In addition, you can also stream across a vast collection of songs under Ghazals & Sufi, Indian Classical and Indian Pop.

Google brings music streaming service under Play Music in India

Google Play Music subscription comes in both free and paid membership. Under free membership, you can freely listen to songs, radio and podcasts under-curated playlist. But its will get interrupted with ads in-between. You can also upload up to 50,000 of your songs to Google Play.

Coming to the paid subscription under Google Play Music, you will get everything under the free plan but with many extras. You can listen to songs, radio and podcasts, Ad-free and uninterrupted. Unlike free plan where you have to listen to a curated playlist, paid membership gives you access to 40 million songs on demand. You can search and listen to a full catalogue of over 40 million local and international hits.

In addition paid Google Play Music membership allows you to download the songs and play it offline. Google is also peeking YouTube Red subscription, which allows you to stream videos on YouTube without ads.

Google Play Music will offer personalised music based on what you are listening. It uses machine learning to figure out what music you like and then mixes in signals. This include location, activity, and the weather along with hand-picked playlists to personalise music for wherever you are and whenever you want tunes.

What will it cost? Google Play Music paid membership or Unlimited will cost you Rs 89 per month. That’s promotional pricing if you sign up before 18-May-2017, after this period, you will be charged Rs 99 per month. However, you can get 30 days free trial to the paid subscription, but need to provide credit card details for that. Once subscribed you can access Google Play Music across all of your devices on Android, iOS and the web (need to have the same Google account).
