On its way to push Cloud based Chrome OS to more people, Google unveiled a new ultraportable Samsung Chromebook, which is priced at$249 (approx. Rs 14000) and available for pre-order.

Google brings in ultraportable ARM based Samsung Chromebook for $249

The new  Chromebook is build on ARM based Samsung’s Exynos 5 Dual Processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage. It includes 11.6 inch display with maximum resolution of 1366×768 and supports HD 1080p video playback. It weighs less than 2.5 pounds, 0.8 inches thin and provides a battery life of 6.5 hours which more than enough for an average user.

It has a VGA Camera and got one port each for USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, as well as HDMI port. It got a built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n for network connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0 Compatible. On every purchase of Chromebook Google is offering 100 GB Google Drive Cloud Storage for two years.

The new Samsung Chromebook is available for pre-order online in USA from Amazon, Best Buy, PC World and other retailers and available for direct buy from Google Play store after the launch. Till now there is no word on when this new Chromebook reaches India, as earlier also the first generation Chromebooks never reached India. The main reason for that may be due to insufficient network infrastructure, as Chromebooks fully rely on cloud and it requires fast internet connectivity for better users experience.
