After Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) reduced the ceiling price for national roaming calls and SMS, Indian telecom operators are now compiling to the new regulation and started offering more affordable national roaming plans. Many have launched national roaming plans offering free incoming calls while on roaming and also reduced call rates for outgoing voice calls. This include India’s top telecom operator Bharti Airtel offering national roaming plans at Rs 5 per day which provides free incoming calls while on roaming, followed by Vodafone India offering similar national roaming plans. With private operators rushing to attract the market Govt owned BSNL and MTNL launched new roaming plans for its prepaid and postpaid customers across India offering free incoming calls and reduced call rates for outgoing voice calls while on roaming. Now its times for other telecom operators to rush into the Indian telecom market with their offering’s.
Reliance Communications National Roaming Plans
RCom launched three new roaming STVs with different validity benefits and offering incoming calls free while roaming along with all outgoing calls at a reduced tariff. Roaming STV at Rs 5 offers prepaid customers incoming calls free while roaming along with all outgoing calls at 1.5 pasia per seconds anywhere in India for a validity of one day. The following STV can be activated through SMS by sending ACT ROAM to 53739 or through USSD by dialing *777*501#.
Roaming STV 77 (Rs 77) and Roaming Plan Voucher at R 194 offering the same benefits as above roaming STV with increase validity of 28 days and 180 days respectively.
Tata Docomo National Roaming Plans
Tata Docomo in addition to the reduced call rates on roaming for incoming calls, has launched two new Prepaid plan vouchers for customers offering free incoming calls on roaming along with extra benefits like reduced call rates on outgoing calls. With the plan voucher recharge at Rs 252 prepaid customers will get free incoming calls while on roaming along with all outgoing STD calls at 0.90 paisa per second and all local calls at 0.78 paisa per second with a validity of 180 days. In this plan all national SMS will be charged at Rs 1.5 per SMS and all local SMS will be charged at Rs 1 per SMS.
With plan voucher charged at Rs 152 customers will get incoming calls while on roaming at 0.75 paisa per second along with all outgoing STD calls at 0.90 paisa per second and all local calls at 0.78 paisa per second with a validity of 180 days.
Uninor National Roaming Plans
Uninor launched two new national Roaming Plan (RTP) and Free Roaming Plan (RTP-FR) for its prepaid customers across India. Free Roaming Plan (RTP-FR) is charged at Rs 1199, offers free incoming calls while on roaming along with all outgoing local calls at Rs 1 per minute and all outgoing STD calls at Rs 1.5 per minute with a validity of 180 days. With this plan customer can enjoy reduced call rates on home network.
With Roaming Plan (RTP) which is charged at Rs 61 offers prepaid customers with all incoming calls while on roaming at 1.25 paisa per second along with all outgoing calls at 1.6 paisa per second and outgoing STD calls at 2.2 paisa per second with a validity of 180 days. This plan got an extra benefit that voice call pulse is calculated in seconds.
Loop Mobile National Roaming Plans
Loop Mobile is offering two new roaming plans for prepaid customer. Roam India plan with a charge of Rs 47 offers prepaid customers incoming calls while on roaming at 0.75 pasia per minute along with all outgoing STD calls at Rs 1.5 per minute and all outgoing local calls at Rs 1 per minute with a validity of 6 months. Another roaming plan named Special Roam India plan charged at Rs 64 along with Rs 2 daily rental (post 30 days) offers customers with free incoming calls while on roaming along with all outgoing STD calls at 0.80 paisa per second and all outgoing local calls at 0.60 paisa per second with a validity of 6 months. To subscriber to plan customers can send SMS “SPROAM” to 50505.
