It seems laptop manufacturers are not happy with the booming Indian online shopping websites who sell products at crazy discounts that no one can match in a normal brick and mortar stores. After Lenovo,Toshiba and Canon who warned people from buying its products from online retailers, it time for one of India’s top Laptop and PC brand Dell India to come against this Indian online shopping sites especially Snapdeal.
Dell India has issued a public notice warning people on buying its product from Indian online shopping website especially Snapdeal. In the notice they clearly says that Snapdeal (www.snapdeal.com) not a Dell authorized reseller and any purchase shall be entirely at users own risk , cost and consequences.
- Snapdeal.com is not a Dell authorized reseller and Snapdeal.com is not authorized to make any representation for and on behalf of Dell products, benefits and entitlements.
- Dell products purchased from / on Snapdeal.com shall be entirely at your own risk , cost and consequences.
- Dell may not honor any representations, benefits, entitlements made on Dell products by /or Snapdeal.com.
The main reason behind this issue is that, Indian online retailers tend to sell products at a cheaper rate than the original MRP set by a manufacturer with heavy discounts and offers. This may have caused issues for Dell’s original resellers mainly the brick and mortar ones who can’t match up with this discounts. So majority of this offline retailers are pushing manufacturer to bring a stop to this trend and to take some action against this online selling.
Snapdeal on the other hand has come up with an public announcement (snapdeal.com/100percentauthorized) saying that they ‘sell only 100% genuine products from authorized sellers’. Snapdeal also explains how to check warranty details of the product listed with them.
