India’s biggest wired broadband and landline service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has cut down freebies for it’s shrinking landline and Broadband subscribers. The telco has now completely withdrawn the Sunday free unlimited voice calling, which is offered with most of it’s landing and Broadband plans.

Starting, 1st February 2018, voice calls on Sunday will become chargeable again for BSNL landline and broadband customers. The new changes are applicable to all existing customers and new customers who are joining the network.

Those who are unaware, BSNL started offering unlimited free calling on all Sunday’s for its landline and broadband customers under the ‘Freedom Offer’. You’re able to make unlimited free voice calls to any network’s mobile and landline on all Sundays. That’s without paying any extra rental or additional cost. It was one of the brilliant moves from the telco last year to attract more users it’s wired service segment.

BSNL withdraws Sunday free calling
  • BSNL withdraws Sunday unlimited free calling feature from its landline and broadband plans.
  • Applicable to both existing and new customers.
  • New changes will come into effect on 1st February 2018.

But it seems, the freebies are going to end, as BSNL has completely withdrawn Sunday free calling for pan-India customers. These changes come right after the telco revised its night free calling time. From the existing 9 PM to 7 AM, free daily night calling time was revised to 10.30 PM to 6 AM every day. That’s a reduction from earlier 10 hours of daily unlimited free calls to 7.30 hours.
