BSNL Revise 2G and 3G Data Usage Charges For Postpaid Mobile Customers

To make the mobile internet usage in the country more affordable, Govt owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has reduced its 2G and 3G data usage charges for its postpaid mobile customers pan India. BSNL has slashed the data charges for postpaid customers upto 75%, previously the 2G and 3G data charges where 4 paisa/10 KB which is now reduced to a more affordable low rate of 1paisa/10 KB.

Dy. General Manager(T&C) in a circular to CGMs of all Telecom Circles/ Telephone Districts said “Now, it has been decided by the Competent Authority to revise the data usage charges under 2G  and 3G postpaid mobile services

According to the new circular additional usage charges beyond free data usage under 2G and 3G postpaid data plans have been revised from 4p/10 KB to 1p/10KB. Also data usage charges for 2G and 3G postpaid voice plan customers not using any data plans revised from 4p/10 KB to 1p/10KB. The data usage charges of 1p/10KB will be  the  same for Home and National roaming. So no worries while on roaming, as the data usage charges remain the same.

The revised 2G and 3G data usage charges will be implemented with effect from 01.06.2012 and applicable to pan India postpaid customers. By this revised data plans BSNL is sending a strong signal to other operators too, as this decision will force other providers to reduce their data usage charges.
