Do you need more and more data to satisfy your WhatsApp, YouTube or to catch live IPL matches online? The state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched what the company calls ‘Data Tsunami’ Rs 98 STV, which offers subscribers with 1.5GB of data per day.
Taking on Reliance Jio, Airtel and other private telcos, BSNL’s Rs 98 STV is one of the cheapest data pack with data cost coming down as cheap as Rs 2.51 per GB. The STV 98 is a pure data STV, which only include data benefits and there is no voice, SMS or other VAS benefits.
The Rs 98 STV from BSNL offers prepaid mobile subscribers with 1.5GB of 3G or 4G data per day for a period of 26 days. Thus in total, you would get 39GB of data for 26 days or Rs 2.51 per GB. This data rate is actually lower than what Reliance Jio and Airtel are offering with their prepaid mobile tariff plans.

Do note that, the validity of the Data STV would change from one telecom circle to another telecom circle. For example, the Rs 98 data STV has a lesser validity of 20 days for prepaid mobile subscribers in Kerala telecom circle.
