Its big really BIG, BlackBerry bringing it’s way popular mobile messaging service BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) to Apple iOS and Google Android devices starting this summer as a standalone application.

BBM set the standard for mobile instant messaging with fast and reliable service and an added layer of engagement. With multi-platform BBM service, users can broaden that real-time connection to friends and colleagues on other supported mobile platforms. The first version of BBM, iOS and Android application brings BBM chats, Multi-person chats, Voice note sharing and BlackBerry Groups, where BBM users are able to set up groups of up to 30 people and share calendar, photos, files and more.

In addition Screen Share, BBM Channels a new social engagement platform within BBM,  as well as voice and video chatting will be made available to iOS and Android apps later this year. BBM will compatible with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwitch or higher devices, iOS version 6 or higher devices and will be available for free download.
