BHIM app launched for Apple iOS devices - Go Cashless with UPI Mobile app

The iOS version of the BHIM app works in the same manner as the counterpart Android version. On the first run, the app will ask to set your preferred language, verify your device and register your mobile number. The app will then send an SMS from your mobile (one-time SMS charges as per your mobile plan) for verification. Once registered and verified you will be asked to set a four-digit passcode to secure the app.

Once logged in the app you can register your bank account and set a UPI PIN for the bank account. By default, your mobile number will be the primary virtual payment address (VPA), like 9876543210@upi. If you are looking for something more personal, you can customise the VPA to your needs like using your nickname rahul@upi (only alphabets and numbers are allowed). You can also add more than one bank account and quickly switch between them. Do note that any money that is transferred to your mobile number or payment address will be credited to your default bank account.

Once you have the VPA you can start sending money to or receive money from friends, family and customers. Money can also be sent to an unregistered user using the Account number and IFSC. Apart from sending money, you can also request money through BHIM app. Once you enter the users VPA address, he/she will receive a notification to authenticate the transaction. You can also share a QR code for faster entry of payment addresses. This will appeal more to small shops and merchants who can easily print their QR Code for display in front of their shop and go completely cashless.
