Asus during the ‘Zennovation’ press conference at CES 2017 in Las Vegas has launched a new member to its already lengthy ZenFone 3 series, the all new ZenFone 3 Zoom. As the name suggest the main highlight of the mobile is its camera technologies with dual-lens optics, a bigger battery capacity of 5000mAh, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and better 4G VoLTE connectivity.

The trend which started with Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera setup, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom also packs a dual-camera at the back. It features a dual 12-megapixel camera, one with a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens packing ASUS SuperPixel technology and the second with a 59mm lens. The best part here is that you can instantly switch between the dual cameras that enabled an impressive depth-of-field effect for portraits. These rear camera pack TriTech+ autofocus system that automatically chooses between Dual Pixel PDAF, subject tracking autofocus, and second-generation laser focus, depending on the situation. The back camera also got both optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS and EIS) technologies for capturing blue-free image and videos.

The back two cameras have Sony IMX362 sensors with 1.4-micron pixels offering better low-light photography. It has a true 2.3x optical zoom for close-up photos and 12x total zoom for distance captures. On to the front, ZenFone 3 Zoom packs a 13-megapixel camera. It features Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, unique beautification and 140degree Selfie Panorama modes. It also comes with screen flash if you are looking to put some light on your face.

For both back and front camera, ZenFone 3 Zoom offers a Manual mode that allows you to control almost everything on the camera side. These include control over shutter speed, white balance, EV, ISO and metering, RAW photo format and switch between the dual lenses for either 25mm or 59mm focal length.

To store all those photos and videos you capture, the mobile comes with up to 128GB of internal storage.

On the connectivity side, the dual SIM Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom supports 4G LTE that works with all Indian 4G bands. It also supports VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C. The mobile also packs a big 5000mAh battery that can last easily for one or two days. Asus claims the battery can offer up to 48 hours of 3G talk time, 25 hours of WiFi web browsing and up to 6.4 hours of 4K video recording. You can also use the battery as a power bank to charge up other smartphones.

For audiophiles, the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom has SonicMaster and High-Res Audio certification. It comes with an advanced five-magnet speaker construction, metal voice coil and expansive sound chamber powered by an NXP Smart AMP. It can also offer audio output at Hi-Res audio 192kHz/24-bit standard and comes built-in support for DTS Headphone X 7.1.
