Play games, watch videos, browse the Web or make lengthy phone calls all without worrying about the battery life. Asus has unveiled Zenfone 3 Max, the successor to the battery packed Zenfone Max smartphone that was launched in India earlier this year.
Well, Asus continuing its tradition to confuse people by launching two entirely different variants, both with the same name – Zenfone 3 Max. Fortunately, they come with different model numbers, Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL and Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL variant. Do note that both variants have entirely different hardware specifications.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) variant is the cheapest among the two and comes with a price tag of Rs 12,999. Whereas the Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) variant is priced at Rs 17,999. Both variants will be available exclusively via Flipkart and come with a bunch of launch offers.
Both Asus Zenfone 3 Max variants got a metal unibody design giving it a premium look and feel. They carry the same larger battery capacity of 4,100mAh, which can last up to 20 hours during 3G voice calling or can offer up to 30 days of 3G standby.
First let’s learn more about the pricey variant, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL). The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display that’s covered with 2.5D curved glass. It got a thin 2.25mm bezel and the screen-to-body ratio of 73 percent. The mobile is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. For storage, the mobile comes with 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using microSD card slot.
On the photography side, the Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) carries a 16-megapixel PixelMaster rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 0.03 s TriTech AF, 6 direction EIS compensation, PDAF, and laser auto-focus. On the front for selfie lovers, the smartphones come with an 8-megapixel camera with beautification mode.
For Connectivity, the dual-SIM Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) got 4G LTE supporting all Indian 4G bands along with VoLTE for HD voice and video calling. Other connectivity option includes 3G and 2G networks along with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. For extra security, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner which can unlock the mobile in just 0.3 seconds. The mobile runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Asus’s own ZenUI 3.0 skin over the top.
As for the cheaper variant among the two, Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) flaunts a smaller 5.2-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.25 GHz quad-core MediaTek 64-bit processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali T720 GPU. On the photography side, the mobile comes with a 13-megapixel camera with dual LED flash support. On front for selfie lovers, the mobile packs a 5-megapixel camera. Rest of the specifications are same as the pricey variant.
Both Asus Zenfone 3 Max variants come with a hybrid card slot. These can be used for either two SIMs or one SIM + microSD card combination. Also, both Asus Zenfone 3 Max variants will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver color options.
