Refreshing its iPad lineup with a new set of hardware and features, Apple has launched the all new 9.7-inch iPad. The new iPad retains the overall look and screen size of iPad Air 2.

The new iPad got a thin aluminum unibody construction that’s 7.5 mm thin and weighs just 469g. The iPad flaunts a gorgeous 9.7-inch Retina display with a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixel. That’s over 3.1 million pixels offering crisp details of every image on the screen.

Under the hood, the 9.7-inch iPad is powered by a 64-bit A9 chip along with embedded M9 coprocessor. It offers more than enough power for multitasking, and play graphics-intensive games. The chip is further optimised to offer up to 10 hours of battery life. To store all your media the iPad comes in either 32GB or 128GB storage variant. For added security, the iPad has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

To take photos and videos the 9.7-inch iPad carries an 8-megapixel autofocus camera on the back. It features f/2.4 aperture, auto image stabilisation, Panorama (up to 43 megapixels) and 1080p HD video recording. On the front, we have the FaceTime 1.2-megapixel HD camera for making video calls and taking selfies.

As for connectivity, the new 9.7-inch iPad come in either Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + Cellular model. With the cellular model, you can connect the iPad to high-speed 4G LTE network, which also supports Indian 4G bands. The new iPad runs on the latest version of iOS 10 mobile operating system.

Finally, the new 9.7-inch Apple iPad will be available in four variants. The 32GB storage and WiFi only 9.7-inch iPad model will come at a price tag of $329 or around Rs 21,490. This makes it one of the most affordable Apple iPad models in India. The price will go all way up to $559 or around Rs 36,600 for the top model with 128GB storage and Wi-Fi + Cellular. The new 9.7-inch iPad will arrive in India by the end of April 2017.
