Indian e-commerce giant Amazon has launched its 4K supported Amazon Fire TV Stick in India, and it’s been called ‘Fire TV Stick 4K‘. It also packs an all-new Alexa voice remote which helps you to find, launch, and control movies and TV shows.
Going through the technicalities, the Fire TV Stick 4K has the same compact design as the original Fire TV Stick, but it’s over 80 per cent more powerful. The new Fire TV Stick 4K gets a new 1.7GHz quad-core processor coupled with IMG GE8300 GPU. This combination delivers a faster streaming experience, quicker load times and brilliant picture quality. It can support an exceptional range of video and sound contents like 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR, HDR-10, HLG, and HDR-10+.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K comes with a new antenna technology featuring dual-band, dual-antenna Wi-Fi (MIMO). It’s combined with a powerful 802.11ac Wi-Fi offering a faster streaming of 4K UHD contents with fewer dropped connection than standard Wi-Fi. It can also work seamlessly even in congested network environments. In addition, it also has Bluetooth 5.0 + LE connectivity.
The all-new Alexa Voice Remote
Amazon has also packed its all-new Alexa Voice Remote with the Fire TV Stick 4K. It combines Bluetooth, multidirectional infrared technology and cloud-based service allowing you to use this single remote to control your compatible TV as well as Fire TV Stick 4K. This remote can actually control power and volume on most of the TVs available in the Indian market.
The all-new Alexa voice remote comes with a dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons. You could press the dedicated ‘Alexa’ button to launch the AI-based personal assistant Alexa. Then it would help you to find, launch, and control movies and TV shows. It can also launch apps, and control playback on your Fire TV.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is being priced at Rs 5,999 and it comes bundled with the all-new Alexa Voice Remote. If you just want the new Alexa Voice Remote, which will also work with older Fire TV Stick, then it would cost Rs 1,999. Both this devices are available for pre-order at Amazon India and will start shipping on 14th November 2018.
Amazon India has also discounted its existing or old Fire TV Stick, which is now available at Rs 3,999. Amazon will be pushing a software update, starting November 14 to bring Alexa on Fire TV and the far-field control to all existing Fire TV stick.
