Well, now we have an offer from an Indian telecom operator that counters Reliance Jio’s Prime Membership plan. Those who may have missed the news, Reliance Jio introduced a new Jio Prime plan of Rs 303, which offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB of 4G data daily for the next 12 months. To counter this offer, India’s top telecom operator Airtel has introduced the Rs 345 and Rs 145 bundled packs with similar unlimited voice and data benefits.
Airtel subscribers recharging with the packs will get unlimited voice calling along with high-speed 4G data benefits. One of the big selling points of this plans is that you can avail the benefits for the next 12 months. Just like Jio Prime membership, you can recharge every month with the above packs and avail the benefits till 31st March 2018. Do note that you need to do the first recharge by 31st March 2016.
Going through the pack details, the Rs 345 bundled data pack seems to be a more appropriate plan to fight against Jio’s Rs 303 Prime plan. The pack offers subscribers unlimited voice calling to any network and to anywhere in India. In addition, you also get 28GB of high-speed 4G data benefits. This data benefit comes with a daily limit of 1GB per day. Which also limited as 500MB at day time and 500MB at night or between 3 AM to 5 AM.
Whereas the Rs 145 plan offers unlimited calling, but for Airtel to Airtel number anywhere in India. This pack only include 2GB of 4G data benefits for the entire month. Both packs come with a validity of 28 days.
Airtel Unlimited Calls and Data Plan

These two bundled packs are available for Airtel’s pan India Prepaid subscribers. The bundled pack price may vary from telecom circle to telecom circle. So you may need to check the pack’s price for your telecom circle before recharging. You can either use Airtel’s website or MyAirtel app to recharge the above packs.
Recently to counter Reliance Jio, Airtel announced the end of all domestic roaming charges on voice calls, SMS and data usage. You will get free incoming calls and SMS while on roaming. There will be no extra charges for outgoing voice calls and SMS while roaming in India. In addition, there won’t be any additional charges for 4G data packs while using it on national roaming.
