Bharti Airtel, India’s top telecom operator has started its telecom services in the hill district of Kargil, one of toughest terrains in India. Airtel become the only private operator to provide voice and data service in Kargil. Airtel also has network coverage in all 22 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kargil, as you know the famous India-Pak battle ground has some extreme weather conditions and rough terrains. Airtel with its superior network infrastructure, has extended its connectivity to the region through VSAT links and specially designed telecom infrastructure which can be adjusted as per the need in case of any unprecedented weather conditions.
“It’s our constant endeavour to provide superior user experience to our customers by seamlessly connecting them wherever they go. District Kargil is known for its inclement weather conditions and remains cut off from the rest of the country for more than 6 months, especially during winters. The teams have worked very hard towards this project and we are pleased to have the network deployment that will allow the natives and tourists to stay connected to their near and dear ones throughout the year.” commented Jagbir Singh, director, network services group, Bharti Airtel.
With connectivity in Kargil, Airtel has covered the farthest destination on the network coverage map of India.
