Taking the people to a digital superhighway, India’s top telecom operator Bharti Airtel commercially rolls out high-speed 4G LTE network in 296 cities across India. This makes Airtel, first Indian telecom operator to commercially launch 4G service in India.
Airtel started the trial of its 4G services in selected Indian cities like Kolkata, Banglore, Ludhiana, Pune and Chandigarh back in April 2012. Based on the feedback received from customers Airtel refined its 4G service and now built India’s first commercial 4G network. 4G LTE service can offer high-speed mobile internet access with speeds up to 100mbps while downloading, and 40mbps while uploading, instantly download and watch HD movies with zero buffering, play multiplayer online games with low latency and lots more at a price of 3G service.

The company is offering it 4G data service at the same rate as of it’s 3G service and starts as low as Rs 25. Along with this, Airtel has introduced 4G Infinity Plans starting at Rs 999 and offers high volume usage customers with unlimited voice calls on mobile along with data benefits.
Airtel prepaid and postpaid customers can exchange their existing SIM for a 4G USIM (Universal Subscriber Identification Module) which is a 128 KB SIM. Normal SIM supports only 2G and 3G network, but USIM Supports 2G, 3G, 4G networks as well as JAVA applications. For every 4G SIM swap, Airtel will be offering six months of unlimited music streaming and downloads on ‘Wynk Music’ and five free movies per month for six months on the Eros Now channel of ‘Wynk Movies’.
