You find an interesting mobile plan, but when try to recharge, it won’t work on your mobile connection. It’s mainly because telcos tend to limit certain plans to a certain set of subscribers. Well, from now onwards this won’t be the case if you are with India’s largest telecom operator Airtel. The telco has announced ‘Airtel Prepaid Promise’ for its prepaid mobile subscribers pan-India.
Airtel Prepaid Promise scheme is the telcos way to offer better customer experience to its prepaid subscriber base. Other than offering user specific plans, the telco will offer open market mobile plans. Which means, every user in a particular telecom circle can recharge for an open market mobile plan and everyone will get the same voice and data benefits.
The telco has essentially combined all its user-specific unlimited combo packs to open market recharge packs. Just like Jio’s prepaid mobile plans, Airtel has announced a slew of unlimited open market combo mobile packs. This open market prepaid packs come with an unlimited voice call, daily 4G or 3G data benefits and unlimited SMS benefits.
Currently, the telco has launched five plans under the Airtel Prepaid Promise offer. These include the Rs 199, Rs 349, Rs 448, Rs 549 and Rs 799 prepaid packs. There are other packs, which can offer more 4G data benefits. But, the telco calls the above five packs as its ’Best Selling Prepaid Packs’.
Getting onto the details, every prepaid pack will offer unlimited local and STD calls to any telecom network across India. You will also get unlimited SMS or up to 100 SMS per day. There is, of course, certain fair usage policy (FUP) limits on voice calling. You can make a maximum of 1000 minutes of local/STD calls in a week and 250 minutes of calls in a day. Any extra voice calls after the FUP limit will be charged up to 30 paise per minute.
Every prepaid pack under the Airtel Prepaid Promise offer comes with a validity of 28 days, except the Rs 448 pack which has a validity of 70 days. For most of the packs, outgoing calls while you’re on roaming is free and unlimited, except the Rs 199 mobile pack were you will be charged.
For data benefits, Rs 199 pack come with a data benefit of 1 GB for the entire month. The popular Rs 349 pack come with 1.5 GB per day, whereas the Rs 448 pack offers 1 GB per day for 70 days. The Rs 549 pack offers 2.5 GB per day of 4G data benefits. Finally, the Rs 799 prepaid pack come with 3.5 GB of 4G/3G data benefits per day.
