Rescuing you from the massive bill shock, India’s top telecom operator Airtel has comes up with new international roaming (IR) packs. Available for both for its Prepaid and Postpaid mobile subscribers, the new IR packs offer a slew of extra benefits. It includes free incoming calls, free SMS, free calling minutes to India and free bundled data benefits.
The new international roaming packs from Airtel are available for all popular global destinations and comes in daily/one day pack and monthly/30 days pack.
The main benefits of the new IR packs are that call charges to India and local calls in international countries have been drastically reduced. The rates are now as low as Rs 3 per minute across popular destinations.
In addition to the reduction in call charges, Airtel has also reduced the tariff for 4G/3G data usage during international roaming. Post-exhaustion of pack data benefits with any new IR packs you will only be charged Rs 3 per MB of data usage. That’s around 99 percent reduction from the earlier Rs 650 per MB data charges.

Coming to new international roaming packs, the one-day international roaming packs starts at Rs 649 and comes with free incoming calls, free SMS to India and nominal data benefits (300MB minimum). You will also get the free voice call minutes to India with this pack. The pack also comes with bundled free data usage and any extra usage will be charged at Rs 3 per MB.
The 30 days international roaming pack offer much more benefit and is designed for those who go for a long duration trips. It got all the free benefits of one day IR pack, but with more data benefits and voice call minutes to India.

You can activate the new international roaming pack though Airtel website, myAirtel app, USSD or by contacting customer care centers.
Recently Vodafone India also introduced daily international roaming pack. It offered customers with free incoming voice calls, outgoing voice calls at Rs 1 per minute and data usage at Rs 1 per MB.
