There you have the answer to Reliance Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. India’s top telecom operator Airtel has come up with a counter-offer to Jio for its pan-India prepaid customers. The operator has reportedly started offering a new Rs 399 bundled data plan which offers unlimited calls and data with a validity of 70 days.
Airtel has essentially revamped it Rs 345 bundled data plan to the new Rs 399 plan. On recharging with the above plan you get unlimited voice calling to any network and to anywhere in India. In addition, you will get 1GB of 4G data usage per day. This plan comes with 70 days validity. If you are new customers then you should pay Rs 499 for the same bundled data plan.
Similarly, Airtel has a smaller plan for Rs 244, which also comes with 70 days validity. Here you will get unlimited voice calling between Airtel to Airtel numbers. You will also get 1GB 4G data benefits daily with the plan.
If you are looking for more data benefits, then Airtel has come up with the Rs 648 plan. This plan offers unlimited voice calling to any network and to anywhere in India. For data, the operator is offering 2GB of 4G data usage per day. This plan competes directly with Jio’s Rs 509 plan.
Airtel Unlimited Calls and Data Plan
Pack price (Rs) | Voice benefits (Local and STD) | Data (4G handsets only) | Validity |
Rs 399 | Unlimited local + STD calls to any network | 70 GB 4G data (1GB data per day limit) | 70 days |
Rs 244 | Unlimited local + STD calls to Airtel numbers | 1GB data per day limit | 70 days |
Rs 648 | Unlimited local + STD calls to any network | 140 GB 4G data (2GB data per day limit) | 70 days |
Note that you will get the above data benefits only if you own a 4G handset with an Airtel 4G SIM. Also, Airtel will be charging you for all outgoing calls made while on roaming.
At first, its seems Airtel got the perfect counter plans for Reliance Jio. But in reality, Jio’s plans offer more benefits and more validity at a lower price. For example, the Rs 309 Jio Prime plan offering unlimited voice calling to any network even on roaming. You will also get unlimited 4G data benefits with daily 1GB FUP limit, which is actually only a speed restriction to 128kbps. In Airtel’s case, you will be charged for extra data usage beyond the daily data limit. Also, Jio’s plan comes with a validity of 84 days, where Airtel only offer 70 days of validity.
