After Reliance and BSNL, India’s emerging telecom operator Aircel has introduced unified 3G and 2G data tariffs for its Prepaid subscribers. Through this unified data plans customers can enjoy high-speed 3G data service at an affordable rate.
In addition to the unified data plan, Aircel will be also offering unlimited internet pack at Rs 27 with a validity of 7 days, that offers 200MB 3G data usage and after that unlimited 2G data usage. Under the unified 3G/2G Pocket Internet plan customers need to pay Rs 128 for 1GB of 3G/2G data usage with a validity of 30 days. (The data rates will change with different telecom circles.)
Under this unified pocket internet plan customers on 2G network will be getting these data plans at 2G speed, whereas subscribers in 3G network will get the data plan on either 3G or 2G according to the 3G coverage area.
Earlier Reliance Communication offered 3G data plans at 2G rates, and Govt owned telecom operator BSNL unified its 2G and 3G Data STVs for prepaid and postpaid customers, along with withdrawing all existing data STVs. It’s now the third telecom operator to unify their 3G and 2G data plans and we can expect other telecom operators to follow the trend.
