Aircel, India’s prominent telecom provider, in an effort to popularize its 2G and 3G mobile internet launches Pocket Internet 24 (PI-24) plan offering customers with affordable mobile internet access along with long validity of one month.
Pocket Internet 24 plan which is priced at Rs 24 offers customers 100MB of free 2G/3G data usage with a validity of 30 days. Beyond 100MB usage, customers need to pay according to their subscribed data rates or can buy the same pack again or switch to another pocket internet plan that offers more data volume.
“India has the third largest internet users in the world and is rapidly adding 70 million mobile internet users a year. It is ironic that despite this exponential growth, a majority of the Indian population has never experienced internet on their mobile phones. With Pocket Internet 24, we aim to tap this segment and drive internet adoption among first time internet users. Pocket Internet 24 is developed keeping in mind the two key issues of a first time user – time to learn and the fear of overspending on data. The affordable Pocket Internet Plan is being rolled out in Chennai, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa, Kolkata and Rest of West Bengal and Bihar, with plans for Pan India launch by April 24, 2013.
