Well it seems ASUS entry to Indian mobile market is paying off, as the company has revealed to have sold over 40,000 ZenFone devices which include ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 in India within 4 days of its launch. It should be noted that the sales happened only through online, as Zenfone smartphones are only available exclusively through Indian online retailer Flipkart and a few ASUS’s authorised channels.
“We are overwhelmed with the response received within just four days of the launch. The reaction from the Indian masses has been astonishing owing to our partnership with Flipkart and our offline channels. It is surprising to see that the product has reached to 300 cities immediately post launch,” commented Peter Chang, Regional Head-South Asia and Country Manager – System Business Group at ASUS India.
The press release didn’t mention the exact figures on each ZenFone model sold. As ZenFone series start as low as Rs 5,999 for ZenFone 4 and goes up to Rs 16,999 for ZenFone 6.
ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 smartphones are powered by Intel Atom processor, spots iconic concentric circle finish, minimum 1GB RAM, dual micro-SIM card slots, Asus ZenUI and with a price starting affordably at Rs 5999. You can read more about Zenfone smartphones on our previous article.
Now we need to wait and see how Xiaomi smartphones get sold in India, as Xiaomi Mi3 will be available for purchase from 22nd July 2014, exclusively through Flipkart.
