The chinese mobile vendor Xiaomi makes its first footstep in India with its flagship Mi 3 Android smartphone. Featuring top-line hardware like Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 13 megapixel camera, 5 inch Full HD display and at a very competitive price point of Rs 13,999.
Xiaomi is called the Apple on China, true to its name, Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone is designed to a have a premium touch, with its 8.1mm body housing a magnesium alloy frame coated with three layers of thermal graphite. It’s also got water-resistant cover and soft microfiber lining to protect the device from end-to-end.
Xiaomi Mi 3 spots a 5 inch Full HD IPS display at 16:9 ratio and up to 441 ppi, offering crisp details and rich textures. It’s powered by 2.3GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8274AB processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 450MHz Adreno 330 GPU unit. On the rear it got a 13 megapixel camera with a super-large Exmor sensor and an ƒ/2.2 aperture. It also have Philips dual-LED flash for perfect lighting. On the front it got a 2 megapixel camera for selfie and video chats.
On the storage side Mi 3 got 16GB internal storage, out of which 13.22GB is available for use. But it lacks the expandable storage option using microSD card. On the connectivity side Mi 3 supports both 3G and 2G networks along with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.
Xiaomi Mi 3 runs on Android 4.3 JellyBean optimized with company’s MIUI version 5 with Google Play store support. It brings heavy customisation to the stock Android with minimal bloatwares. Company has designed MIUI based on the feedback they got from over 35 million Xiaomi users. Xiaomi also know for their quick updates and regular feature addition on their smartphones. Xiaomi has also packed Mi Cloud – its cloud storage service where users can store their phone data like contacts, photos and files on cloud.
