Andy Rubin, once said “Android was initially intended for cameras“, Samsung seems to think that way and have clubbed Android with a Camera and a Smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, a Galaxy S4 variant that has Smartphone capabilities along with a full-fledged point and shoot camera. It couples the Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 model along with a 10x Optical Zoom, 16 Mega Pixel CMOS Sensor, OIS and Xenon Flash based point-and-shoot camera on back.

On the mobile side, Galaxy S4 Zoom offers a 4.3 inch sAMOLED qHD display and powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It runs on latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s Touchwiz UI on top and carries the usual Samsung ‘S Apps’. On the connectivity front it comes with either LTE or 3G (depending up on the market), Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS. It got a 8GB internal storage which is rather disappointing as the phone carriers a full purpose point-and-shoot camera on back, plus an MicroSD card slot that can support up to 64GB memory.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom with 16MP

Now the main part of the camera, Galaxy S4 Zoom spots a compact 16MP BSI CMOS Sensor along with 10x Optical Zoom and built-in Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS). It carries a F-Stop range of F3.1-6.3 and ISO goes from 100 all the way up to 3200. To complement a 1.9 megapixel camera been placed in front.

Samsung has loaded the smartphone camera with all apps you will find in a point-and-shoot camera, like the Smart Mode that offers several pre-set modes and the camera will automatically adjust to the settings.
