Now never miss an episode of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ or the latest movie trailers or getting fursturated with video buffers every five seconds due to poor internet connectivity. Google has introduced offline video viewing feature within the YouTube app for Android and iOS device users in India.
YouTube Offline allows you to download any videos from the App to your device and play them back during a short periods of low or no internet data connectivity.
So next time when you watch a video on the YouTube mobile app, you will see an offline icon that sits under the video frame. Clicking on the button will download the complete video for offline viewing, during no data connection. Downloaded video will remain on your device for offline viewing for a brief period of 48 hours, after which the video will be deleted automatically.
“Making these popular videos available for offline playback will help people move past the challenges of data connection, speed and cost to enjoy a smooth, buffer-free version of their favorite content“, said Jay Akkad, Product Manager, YouTube on official Google India blog.
Currently a limited number of videos from popular Indian production houses like T-Series, Saregama and Yashraj Films are available for offline viewing, but will soon extended to all videos available in India.
